About eRTOS

IntervalZero's eRTOS product provides a standalone, embedded Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) with tools and utilities for building and executing real-time programs. eRTOS enables application components or modules that require deterministic and high-speed response times. With eRTOS, you can use a single, low-cost platform to satisfy a full range of real-time and embedded application requirements.

Note: Real-time systems are sometimes classified as hard or soft real-time systems. A hard real-time system is one in which the response time determinism requirement is absolute; for a soft real-time system, some small deviations are tolerated. IntervalZero believes that there should be no tolerated deviations, and so when the phrase "real-time" appears in this documentation, it means hard real-time.

eRTOS does not require Windows to be installed on the system to run. It can start processors and allocate resources without the help of the Windows operating system. eRTOS is based on RTX64. It supports multiple processes and threads running on multiple cores on an SMP system. eRTOS is source code compatible with RTX64, unless otherwise stated.

Because eRTOS is separate from Windows, it is insulated from potential compatibility issues introduced by frequent Windows updates. You also don’t need a Windows license to deploy the eRTOS Runtime.
