Network Interface Cards

The Network Interface Cards (NICs) supported by the wRTOS Network do not require any special hardware configuration. Just install the card in a vacant PCIe slot on your computer.

wRTOS uses the Windows Device Manager for converting an existing PCIe NIC card from a Windows device to a wRTOS device. Once the NIC card has been associated as a wRTOS device, it can then be used as a Network interface with Network Link Layer (NL2) support for availability to the Real-Time Network. See Converting a Windows Device to wRTOS for more information.

Each NIC card that is a wRTOS device requires its own interrupt, be it line-based, MSI, or MSI-X. See Configuring Interrupts in the Help for additional information.

See the Supported Network Interface Cards (NICs) Help topic or the wRTOS Supported NICs document for a list of the NIC drivers provided for use with the MaxRT wRTOS Network.
