RTX64 provides an essential set of real-time programming interfaces in the Windows environment. The RTX64 interfaces are compatible with the Windows programming interfaces. In addition, RTX64 provides extensions to Windows in order to provide a complete set of real-time functions to the application programmer.
RTX64 application programs can use the real-time extensions in both the Windows and RTSS environments and programs can use the Windows-supported API in the real-time subsystem (RTSS) environment. This provides maximum flexibility to the developer. In the Windows environment (32-bit or 64-bit), programs can be developed and tested with the real-time extensions using the vast number of Windows development tools. The same program can be re-linked as an RTSS program and run deterministically.
