Enable Stop Messages

Stop messages in an RTX64 Green Screen or a Windows Blue Screen quickly provide key information about a system crash. A stop message often gives you sufficient data to determine why a system has crashed and what actions to take to resolve the problem.

To enable (view) stop messages, you must disable the Windows Automatically Restart option.

To disable the Windows Automatically Restart option:

  1. In the Windows Control Panel, double click the System icon and then open the Advanced tab.
  2. Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings.
  3. Under System Failure, clear the Automatically Restart checkbox.

NOTE: Select the Automatically Restart option only if you want to disable stop messages and have the system reboot automatically when there is a system failure.

  1. Click OK to save the settings.
