Manually Creating Data Files

In order to view the contents of the RTV log file, a data file must first be generated. If you did not automatically create a data file during the data logging process, you must do so before you can view the contents of the log file.

To manually create a text file:

  1. From the RTX Time View main window, click View to display the Open dialog.
  2. Select the RTX Time View log file that you want to convert.
  3. From the Open as combo box, select Text to generate a text file.
  4. RTX Time View provides a mechanism that lets you filter the information displayed in a file. Only the events specified by the filter are displayed. You can use a filter with pre-selected events provided by RTX Time View or customize the filter. Select the desired filter type from the Display Filter menu or click Advanced to customize the events that are displayed. See Customizing Filters for detailed information on what is logged for each filter, as well as how to customize a filter for your specific needs.
  5. Click Open to convert the RTX Time View log file to the specified file type and open the file using notepad.
