Enabling and Disabling RT-TCP/IP Support

RT-TCP/IP is a TCP/IP stack for the RTX Subsystem that ships with RTX Runtime.

NOTE:  Before you can enable RT-TCP/IP support in RTX Properties, you must determine your IP addresses, netmasks and optional gateways, and DNS servers. You must also create or edit an INI configuration file for your current setup.

NOTE:  The contents of the TCP/IP tab are disabled when the RT-TCP/IP component is not activated. For information on activating RTX components, see RTX Activation.

NOTE:  Enabling the RT-TCP/IP stack requires Windows Administrator permissions.

To enable and disable RT-TCP/IP support:

  1. Open the RTX Properties Control Panel and click the TCP/IP tab.

  1. Select Enable RT-TCP/IP Stack to enable RT-TCP/IP support or remove the checkmark to disable support.
  2. (Optional) Select Run in Verbose mode to enable verbose logging.

NOTE:  Running the stack in Verbose mode may cause the RT-TCP/IP stack to be slow during system shutdown.

  1. (Optional) If you are running in dedicated mode and want to specify a processor for the RT-TCP/IP stack to run on, enter its system-wide processor number in the Processor Affinity option.
  2. Specify the appropriate INI file in the Configuration File box. You can click the Browse button to navigate to and select the file.
  3. Click OK.
