RTX Properties Overview

The RTX Properties control panel provides a number of settings that let you determine how the RTX Subsystem and RTSS applications behave.

To open the RTX Properties control panel:

Click the Start menu and then choose All Programs > IntervalZero > RTX 2016.

If the operating system requires administrative permissions then right-click RTX Properties and select Run as administrator.

If the operating system does not require administrative permissions, click RTX Properties.

NOTE: Some settings in the RTX Properties control panel require Windows Administrator privileges, and will be grayed out unless you have the required permissions.

The following table provides brief descriptions of the tabs in the RTX Properties control panel.

Tab	Description
About	Use the About tab to view version and build number information for the current installation of RTX.
System	Use the System tab to: Specify manual or automatic RTX subsystem startup. Set the HAL timer period. Set the Time Quantum. Free the stack on terminate thread calls. Delay cache flushing. Specify the number of RTSS processes. Set the Trace Behavior.
Memory	Use the Memory tab to: Customize the RTX local memory pool. Configure default memory allocation for RTSS applications. Set the upper bound for the maximum amount of memory that can be allocated per call to RtMapMemory.
Debug	Use the Debug tab to: Select the type of debugging software to use to debug RTSS applications. Specify whether to include additional RTX information in Windows-generated minidumps.
Starvation	Use the Starvation tab to: Configure RTX to monitor for Windows starvation. Specify RTX behavior if starvation is detected.
Exceptions	Use the Exceptions tab to: Specify whether RTX freezes or terminates faulting processes.
Hardware	Use the Hardware tab to: Configure plug-and-play device support. Determine how to best minimize RTX latencies.
TCP/IP	Use the TCP/IP tab to enable and disable support for the RTX TCP/IP stack.
Control	Use the Control tab to: Manually start and stop RTX. Specify RTX boot configuration settings.
