Managing Plug and Play Devices

The RTX Devices section of the Hardware tab provides options for viewing properties associated with devices, editing the properties associated with RTX devices, and providing RTX INF Support to that RTX can take part in the Windows driver selection process.

To add or remove RTX Support to a Pnp device:

  1. Open the RTX Properties control panel and click the Hardware tab.
  1. In the Devices area, click Settings. The Pnp Device Settings dialog box opens.
  2. You see a list of the current Plug and Play devices on your system. If the Show filtered list is checked, only the most common devices are displayed; if it is unchecked, all devices are displayed. To update the device information, click Refresh.
  3. Right-click the device you wish to add RTX INF support for, then click either Add RTX INF Support or Remove INF Support.
  4. Click Apply. RTX automatically edits the RtxPnp.inf file to support or remove support for this device.

NOTE:  RTX INF Support doesn't give RTX control of the device, it only allows RTX to take part in the Windows device driver selection process.  For details about converting devices to RTX, see About Managing PCI and ISA Devices.
